Training With A Purpose LLC was founded by Tommy Dalton, a personal health advocate and nutritionist who defied expectations after a cerebral palsy diagnosis at age 12. His experience as a collegiate pitcher ignited a passion: to create a holistic wellness environment for others facing similar challenges. We saw a significant gap in traditional services for neurodiverse individuals and those with developmental disabilities, including autism and cerebral palsy. Our approach weaves together specialized movement, education, and mental health services, ensuring every patient, from youth (1-21 for IIC services) to adults, finds their unique path to wellness.

Tommy’s personal journey is the foundation of our methodology. Having navigated the challenges of a disability firsthand, Tommy ensures our programs are not only medically sound but also deeply empathetic and effective. This lived experience, combined with his 23+ years as a Specialized Nutritionist, uniquely positions us to understand and address the specific needs of our patients. We utilize functional training equipment and sensory-aware movement spaces to create an inclusive and stimulating environment.

While our heart is in Hawthorne, NJ, we proudly serve patients across the entire state, including Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Morris, Hudson, and Union counties. We’re a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and a Specialized Medicaid Waiver Provider, committed to making our services accessible. We recently helped a family in a split-level home near Goffle Brook Park. Their son, who has autism, was struggling with a new school routine, causing significant stress for everyone at home. Our team worked with him on visual schedules and social stories, specifically tailored to his new classroom.
